Privacy

Your mess is not ours to keep.

What you type into the Ensnarled finder is matched on your device. It is not sent to Ensnarled, saved to a database or included in analytics.

The short version

  • No account is required.
  • Your finder description stays in your browser.
  • Ensnarled has no server-side submission form and no database of situations.
  • Optional Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.”
  • Ensnarled does not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.

What happens in the finder

The browser compares your words with a local list of phrases tied to the checked routes. That comparison happens in JavaScript on the device you are using. The text is not placed in a URL, analytics event, cookie, log or message to us.

Please still leave out names, account numbers, Social Security numbers, document numbers and anything else private. You never need them for a match.

Optional analytics

If you allow it, Ensnarled uses Google Analytics to count page visits and understand basic site performance. The setup disables advertising personalization and Google signals. It sends a page path stripped of query strings and fragments; it does not send finder text, the matched route or button-by-button behavior.

Your choice is stored in your browser under ensnarled_analytics_choice. Choosing “No thanks” prevents the Google Analytics script from loading. You can reopen at any time. You can also clear the choice through your browser’s site-data controls.

When enabled, Google processes the analytics data under its own terms and privacy practices. Learn more at Google’s Privacy Policy.

Hosting and official links

Ensnarled is hosted by Vercel. Like most web hosts, Vercel may process limited technical request data—such as an IP address, browser information and timestamps—to deliver and secure the site. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy.

When you follow an official-source link, that agency or organization receives the ordinary request information your browser sends to it. Its privacy policy then applies.
